Pitti Immagine is a major, twice yearly trade show in Florence where basically the entire fashion universe descends on the tiny Italian city. Last year Ashley covered the events for Icon, but this year I was fortunate enough to attend myself as I was already in town for Luisa Via Roma’s Firenze4Ever.
Pitti Immagine capped off another successful season with a much anticipated and lauded runway show from Valentino. The Florence-based trade show, which I and correspondent Ashley Stefan covered last year, held various events and special presentations with designers and fashion from around the world.
Rodarte, the iconic brand from the Mulleavy sisters, presented a special couture collection for Pitti W in Florence, Italy today. Adorned with more than 30,000 Swarovski crystals, the ten-piece collection dazzled audiences with structured bodices, a mix of daring colors and creative cuts and biases.
Leaving the structured Pitti Uomo events at the grand Fortezza and heading down the street to Dogona for the Pitti W Preview, is like stepping into a resort fantasy. Not only is it a switch from masculine to feminine lines, it’s also a whimsical transformation
