So…I’ve been getting some emails for more information on Luisa Via Roma from readers. What is it? Where is it? What kind of clothes do they sell, and who owns it. So, even though Ashley introduced it last year on the site when she visited, here is some more info, and some quick pics of the fabulous store.
Like I announced two weeks ago, I was invited by Luisa Via Roma to participate in their bi-annual Firenze4Ever event. It’s where they invite top bloggers, designers, editors and more to participate in a Style Lab (where you dress up in the new collections) and they basically spoil you rotten. Dinners, concerts, gifts, press opportunities, etc. Located in Florence, they also have a fabulous site that offers worldwide shipping. The store is run by the most charming Italian man, Andrea Panconesi, who was on hand all weekend to chat with the bloggers and give final “approval” on looks.
What kind of clothes do they carry? Iconic ones. Designers like Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang, Chloe, Karl Lagerfeld and many more, grace their white racks. Inside, the store is colorful, lively, vibrant and the atmosphere, like the clothes, is high-end, but not too serious. Think FAO Schwartz meets Kitson or Intermix with better designers and a friendlier, Italian staff.
Luisa Via Roma’s online work has been legendary. Early champions of e-commerce, social media and bloggers, their web team is amazing. Okay, again, sorry for the long post, but I think this covers all the questions I’ve gotten recently. So if you live in the U.S. and cannot make it over to Florence, visit them online. If you’re planning a trip to Florence, or any of the neighboring cities this summer, check them out. They also have an outlet store about 10 mins by car from their main store. It features all of their sale merchandise, and if you walk into their main store, they’ll call a cab for you…free of charge.
SO many more posts coming on this experience. I am still in Florence for the rest of this week though attending Pitti, one of Europe’s biggest fashion trade shows. Attending a Valentino and Peter Pilotto show too.
