You know that scene where Carlton Banks demonstrates how he enters a club to Will Smith’s character on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? Both arms over his ears, head down and walking purposely? That was kinda me on Thursday night…nah, I’m just kidding! Well, sorta. Thursday night Malia and I attended Stylecaster’s 25 Most Stylish LA party at The Writer’s Room. Founder Ari Goldstein was there as well as Stylecaster’s pick for the 25 most stylish Los Angeles residents. Bloggers, retailers, editors and tv-personalities all made the list and to celebrate Stylecaster cast a party at Hollywood’s The Writer’s Room.
While my friend Tiffany exclaimed that she spent her last two birthdays here, and Malia said, this used to be her Tuesday nights, I unashamedly do not go to Hollywood often. I was there to support Stylecaster’s major contribution to online media and friends who made the list that included Aimee Song and Andrea Trujillo. I eventually had a drink, cooled down and lightened up. This was fun, and it reminded me of my college days, not so long ago, before I said, “I do,” and seemingly aged 20 years.
Also there was Whitney Port and other bloggers including Jenny and Shauna. By the end of the night I remembered what it was like to be young again, danced, networked a bit and just enjoyed being around young people instead of at work or behind the computer screen blogging. It was so much fun and if you’re headed to MAGIC next week, Stylecaster is doing it again Tuesday night at Marquee!
