Style by Sade: Get the Style of Vogue’s Special Event’s Director: Sylvana Ward Durrett (Yes! She did the Met Gala!)

The other day I had a business meeting and met the childhood friend of Sylvana Ward Durrett. Who is “Syl,” as the person affectionately referred to her friend, you ask? She’s the Director of Special Events at Vogue. A gorgeous, lanky, ambitious and savvy 29 year-old who not only organized Monday’s Met Costume Gala, but also oversees 30 other Vogue stamped events including the CFDA. After being Anna Wintour’s assistant for 2 years, she moved her way up the fashionable Vogue ladder to Accessories Director and eventually landed the esteemed position of Director of Special Events —all before the age of 30. No, biggie! And how did she even end up at 4 Times Square (that’s Vogue’s headquarters)? She was interviewing for an internship position, someone saw her in the waiting area, and brought her in to interview with Anna. So see kiddies, dreams do come true. And, as Anna told Colbert last night, the devil no longer wears Prada!

Okay, enough back story…let’s get to her great style! Sleek, minimal, the modern-working woman. Great basics paired with great tailors (and genes) and you can look as sleek as “Syl.” Oh, and don’t forget about the light touches of gold. So read on and click my links to shop her look!
