Ciao tutti – The Icon Concierge welcomes you to Firenze, Italia, where we will be covering the Pitti Immagine events taking place this week! Upon arriving to the city this afternoon, I quickly noticed a hustle and bustle in the fashion-heavy areas of the city,
as the Florence community prepares for the shows this week. There will be parties, concerts, and collection releases all over Florence, and Pitti really touches every area of the town.

After scoping out Fortezza da Basso, where the main Pavilions and events will be (there were massive trucks full of lighting and tech equipment being unloaded – big surprises are in store for us!), I wandered around the city to absorb its magical beauty before heading back to the Pensione for some much-needed beauty rest.
My Florence highlights are always:
1. The Duomo (Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore): It is my first stop every time I’m here – its massive intensity and architectural genius never cease to amaze me! Climbing to the top of the Duomo is incredible because the staircase leads you between the outer dome and an internal dome … do not attempt this in heels! And, the views are of course incredible.

2. Rivoire on Piazza della Signoria: The best cioccolata calda I have ever had (I know it’s summer and it’s hot – that does not stop me).

3. Piazzale Michelangelo: From up on the hill, you have views of the entire city and the Arno River, including the Duomo, Santa Croce, the Ponte Vecchio, and Palazzo Vecchio – incredible at sunset!

4. Boboli Gardens: Just a glorious place to escape to with a good book or journal, and pretend that you’re far away or from a different era.
