Fashion’s Night Out: Los Angeles Guide

As many of you know, Fashion’s Night Out is fast approaching major U.S. and European cities on September 8, 2011, right before Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week! As a Los Angeles transplant from New York City, I thought I would detail the three places every LA-based fashionista must visit on this iconic night of fashion, shopping and stylish socializing!

Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive

Rodeo Drive, and the surrounding streets, is known for having some of the best shopping in the world from high-end boutiques like CHANEL, Gucci and Fendi to smaller boutiques offering some of the best selections in high-end contemporary fashion. So, it’s no surprise that during Fashion’s Night Out, they are going all out with a variety of events in all stores and their famed ferris wheel. Yes, a ferris wheel!

Creating a high-end shopping carnival, with over 67 in-store events, extended shopping hours, gourmet food trucks, stilt walkers, flame throwers and the Cirque du Soleil FlipBook Experience, Rodeo Drive will be THE place to be, if you’re looking for a fun and fashionable night filled with luxury treats and goodies.

Some notable places and events include:

CHANEL, where you can get your nails painted in three exclusive colors created exclusively for FNO by their creative director, Peter Phillips.

FENDI, where you can view the ‘Atelier Fendi’ exhibition shot by Karl Lagerfeld and previewing their upcoming collection.

GUCCI, where you can view the exclusive and limited-edition Fiat-500 designed by Gucci’s creative director, Frida Giannini.

LANVIN, where you can enjoy their “Roaring 20s Cocktail Party.”

ST.JOHN, where you can get shopping and personal styling tips by stylist Amber Ventura.

Larger retailers and department stores like SAKS FIFTH AVENUE and NEIMAN MARCUS will also be hosting various events throughout the night, so make sure to by most of these places for one of the best Fashion’s Night Out on the West Coast.

Ron Ronson | Fred Segal featuring Dirtee Hollywood and Patrick Hoelck

West Hollywood, is well known for their love of Fashion’s Night Out, and great shopping on famous Melrose Avenue. This year, Ron Robinson at Fred Segal will be featuring an entire line-up of celebrity appearances, designers and artists including Dirtee Hollywood designer, David Long and his collaborator, photographer Patrick Hoelck.

Other notable appearances and designers include Kimora Lee Simmons, who will be hosting the event, fragrance brand, Apothia, Jeffrey Sebilia from Project Runway (Season 3), Drennon Design by Sally Drennon, Beats by Dre and more!

Definitely stop by if you’re into an eclectic and urban shopping mood!

The Beverly Center

Billed as the central hub for Fashion’s Night Out in Los Angeles, The Beverly Center will be celebrating FNO with five official (and local) bloggers, the addition of new high-end stores (including Prada, Fendi and Tiffany’s & Co.) and a runway show hosted by Nicole Richie.

Los Angeles mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa will also be in attendance for the event, commencing at 5:30PM with a live fashion show, and another one at 8PM!

Participating stores will include Henri Bendel, Bloomingdales, Burberry, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Bebe, Steve Madden and more! Parking is free from 3PM on, but get there early as I am sure this will be one of the busiest locations on FNOLA!

The Icon Concierge will personally be covering all three of these places and shooting video interviews with key individuals that can later be watched on our YouTube Channel! We will be checking in with FourSquare (@Sade Strehlke), and will be tweeting (@Icon_Concierge) and capturing all the fashion on Instagram (@The_Icon_Concierge) and Pose (@TheIconConcierge).

So make sure to follow me on Thursday on ALL of my social media and mobile channels for full coverage from the West Coast. In addition, I will have coverage from NYC and Londons’ Fashion’s Night Out!

So the only question left is … where will you be at this year’s FNO and what will you be wearing?

Update: We released our first coverage of FNO last night, so if you didn’t make it and haven’t read that, click the link!  Additional photos of the event can be viewed at our new Flickr page, and video interviews are coming out on our sister site, Iconic Fashion TV.
