Ebay and the Counsel of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) have collaborated on a special and limited-edition collection of canvas totes to combat the sales of counterfeit, high-end luxury handbags. Together with the CFDA, 50 prolific and high-end American fashion designers have designed 50 different, chic and iconic totes that display the adorable slogan of, ‘You Can’t Fake Fashion.’ Participating designers included Marchesa, Calvin Klein, Anna Sui, Nicole Miller, The Row and more!
Already all sold out, the totes were beyond-adorable, showed off the design aesthetic of each designer, and were sold exclusively on eBay. Priced at $150 each and only $35 for the tote designed by the CFDA (which is still available), I am SUPER bummed that I did not get to the computer fast enough to purchase one of the designer totes.
I DO however, wonder if they will start popping up on eBay for a lot more than their original price tag OR if people will make counterfeit or replicas of these totes! I do hope they release another batch of these bags…they’re such a must-have for any fashionista.
I also don’t think I have to say, never buy counterfeit ladies. There are so many low and moderately priced stylish handbags out there, people can always spot a fake, it hurts the fashion industry and stealing is never cool … and definitely NOT iconic. I will also say to the designers -please keep your items fairly priced. A lot of you are WAY overpriced, and unfortunately, that contributes to a lot of people purchasing counterfeit items.
