As I announced a few moments ago, I am picking my favorite pieces from Brazilian designers featured on Moda Operandi this week. Showcasing two to three designers each day, artistic director Taylor Tomasi Hill personally worked with and curated each of the items on M’O this week after a recent trip to Sao Paolo Fashion Week. To kick off the week Moda Operandi is featuring designers Adriana Degreas (SWIM), Patricia Viera (RTW) and Silvia Furmanovich (Jwlry) today. Here’s a little bit on each designer and my picks from their selections available on the Moda Operandi site for the next week.

Imagine you live in a city where water can be at your toes within minutes. So like Brasil, or Los Angeles! Well, then you probably want a piece or two of Adriana Degreas’ line in your life. The Brazilian designer is known for her swimwear, but has recently introduced more ready to wear pieces in her collection. My pick? A hybrid of the two, a tropical body suit that can be worn in the water, and with a casual white skirt for dinner on some tropical locale or to a chic summer dinner in the Hamptons.

Designer Patricia Viera brings many years of experience to the table between being raised in Brazil and working in London as a designer’s assistant. Her line mixes Brazilian staples with Western influences resulting in a line that’s beach, runway and workday appropriate. Case in point? My pick, a printed and laser punched skirt that can be paired with a blouse, worn over a bikini and can as easily be paired with flats as heels.

The daughter of a goldsmith, Silvia has the art of jewelry making in her veins. Her pieces are inspired by her travels, surroundings and appreciation of life and beauty. My mouth literally dropped when I saw some of her jewelry pieces. I want them all, like literally. Bright, bold, ethnic and glamorous. Think DVF or Bianca Jagger in the swinging 60s with a modern twist. My pick are these sapphire and diamond crescent moon stunners. Yes, I know it’s a bit extravagant, but at the same time it’s also surprisingly casual.
Happy Shopping, more picks tomorrow!
