London Fashion Week is ticking on with designers showcasing their brightest (and they are bright) designs adorned with floral prints, metallics, furs and peplum (the trend that just won’t stop!). Below are my best picks for Day 3 and Day 4, some names you know, and some names you should know!
Fashion East is a showcase of some of London’s best new stars. This season designers James Long, Maarten van der Horst (HUP, Holland!) and Marques’Almeida were the selected designers. Shown above are Maarten van der Horst and James Long. Their styles were innovative, original and on-trend. I am not sure what I like most…the floral silk pants, the metallic pink skirts or the quilted rastafarian leather coat. WOW!
Christopher De Vos and Peter Pilotto, the designing duo behind Peter Pilotto showcased another amazing and geometric inspired collection. I actually met both of these designers at London SHOW Rooms Los Angeles, and spoke to De Vos (who is half Belgian) in Dutch for a while. They were super nice, and their clothes are super intricate and detailed. I am LOVING the quad-colored fur cowl, and I like how they are weaving some metallic into their intricate patterns.
Burberry Prorsum‘s Creative Director, Christopher Bailey has wowed us again with amazing trenches and floral and ethnic prints in rich earth tones. Again, we see the peplum trend, even in Burberry’s iconic trenches and studded gloves with a fringe metallic dress. Next to McQueen and McCartney, Prorsum is one of London’s premier lines and it’s clear why!
