If like me, you’re obsessed with traveling and discovering fashion from far away places, then you’ve been keeping up with Berlin Fashion Week as well as Haute Couture Week in Paris. These designers, except for Hugo by Hugo Boss and Escada Sport, may not be instantly name recognizable to you, but they should loosely be on your radar, because you never know when one of them may BAM become big and end up in a store near you.
The trends on the Berlin catwalks were simple: American, youthful, great suits, yellow and burnt orange, trends we’ve seen here at NYFW and other shows as well. In addition, there was peplum and lace-cut dresses paired with nude booties that looked oh-so-sexy and would make perfect fashion date* outfits. My favorite designers there were Blame, Kaviar Gauche, Rebekka Ruétz and Rena Lange. Although I was invited to Berlin, I sadly had to turn it down due a personal conflict here at home (read anniversary). I do hope to visit next season. So, what are your thoughts on these young and ambitious designers? How would you incorporate their pieces into your wardrobes?
