As the stars walked the carpet, I entered backstage of the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy’s, where I was instantly greeted by the amazing Dinair team. Dinair is the original airbrushing makeup company, founded in 1981 by Dina Ousley. Dina has taught women, Hollywood makeup artists and high end salons and spas all over the country, her famous airbrushing system!

Dina and her staff of twenty or so makeup artists were all dressed in hot pink t-shirts, armed with hundreds of Dinair makeup bottles and airbrushes. They were ready to create this year’s Governors Ball vintage inspired look. Natural, clean makeup with bold red lips and a smoky eye. The look was created by Dina herself, but brilliantly inspired by this year’s theme, “Romantic Rhapsody in Red.”

Event planner, Cheryl Cechetto and Sequoia Productions were behind putting together this year’s beautifully themed ball room. I walked into the room in complete awe! The tables, floors and ceiling were all adorned with red rose detailing inspired by Richard Serra. The performers’ hairpieces were made to match the roses and were of course designed by, Dina. The walls looked like a starry night; a black wall with scattered lights that made the red burst out at you. It was a perfect look that lived up to its romantic name.

For the second year in a row, Dinair was trusted with the responsibility of creating all of the performers looks. This year it was a new group called, “The Red Hots,” taking center stage. Dinair lived up to the expectations by transforming the girls into Dina’s Creations. I asked one of the performers, Renee Puente during her makeup application how she felt about the whole make-up and performing process. She said it gives her confidence and, “drives her to give a better performance.” Puente also described the whole experience as amazing and fun.

With Dina’s insistence, I got my make-up done with one of the awesome makeup artists. Within a minute, I was hooked on their makeup application system! Unlike traditional makeup, airbrushing sprays a fine mist, so the makeup sits evenly on your skin. Their Airbrush makeup gave me a flawless coverage and got rid of all my oils. It also perfected my impossible to perfect eyebrows, which is an easy win in my book!

If you’re interested in making the switch from regular makeup (I know I am!), you can purchase from their site, www.airbrushmakeup.com. If you’re worried about how to use the system, they offer “How-to Videos” and workshops, so you’re all covered—literally and figuratively!
